Catch up with the race action from the roadside, our first unique live viewing spot of the race and planned by our local team living in the French Alps. Our ride explores a favourite area for us and I’m sure it will be a favourite for you also as we pedal ahead of the race peloton. Stopping and taking a break at the perfect location to admire the very best cyclists in the world in full flight! The race excitement over, lets enjoy our own deserved lunch in a favourite highly regarded local secret restaurant.

Today we head south, following the edge of the spectacular turquoise waters of Lake Annecy, one of the most exhilarating pedalling experiences in the world and head to the stage 6 start. This is a time when many riders are approachable for a friendly photo or autograph, you may just find them sitting and taking a café before “Go”. The Dauphine is a very unique sporting event in that the very best cyclists in the world are easily accessible to the public, which is often not possible one month later in July at the Tour de France. Once we have watched the stage start and the race peloton as “departed”, we will discover lunch together at another favourite restaurant of the area.
Saturday June 8th – View the Criterium du Dauphine Stage 7 Le Pont-de-Claix – Superdevoluy (Alps)

Today’s ride contrasts with yesterday’s valley roads and turns into magnificent as we head into the high Alps and It’s our turn for some action as we ride the mythical famous Alpe-d’Huez (1860m/ cat HC)! The Criterium du Dauphine professional peloton will be fired up for this huge mountain stage and we will join them on the roadside before the summit of L’Alpe d’Huez (1860m) – 14km, average 7.9% for your unique “Live viewing spot”.
