The quality of the start list is growing for the Volta Algarve 2017 with Tour riders, Classic specialists and World Time Trial Champions. French star Thibaut Pinot leading for FDJ joined by climbing domestique Swiss Sébastien Reichenbach and 2016 Milan-Sanremo winner Arnaud Démare.
The Spanish cyclist Luis León Sánchez will lead the Astana team, looking for better luck than in 2016 when he crashed out during the TT and this year supported by experienced Italian Michele Scarponi.
Trek-Segafredo will have their spring classic riders, new signing German John Degenkolb and Belgian Jasper Stuyven. Whilst Cannondale Drapac team will show case Sep Vanmarcke and the US national time trial champion, Taylor Phinney.
