Richie Porte Tour de France 2020 Podium
What a crazy year, for all bike race fans and cyclists we certainly have not been able to Practice Bicycle as we like and would normally do.
The year of 2020 will be a year that none of us will forget for many sad and difficult reasons. Although for a while a great Aussie racing cyclist Richie Porte raced his bike around France for three terrific weeks and had many of us cheering and shouting at the TV as he reached Paris on the podium of the 2020 Tour de France, Fantastic!
Practice Bicycle have shared many a great moment and made lifetime memories with guests from all over the world at our Bike Race Tours since 2007.
Its unbelievable that we have been live on the roadside supporting Ritchie along his successful career, our first moment was possibly back in 2010 at the Criterium du Dauphine. He was hammering on the front working for the future Tour de France winner at the time Bradley Wiggins Team Sky, on the roads of the Rhone valley as he approached the Col du Grand Colombier.
The class bike racer as had more than his fair share of bad luck and falls during the Tour de France. Strong character and tenacity brought many great race performances and many victories with Le Tour always alluding him.
Fast forward to the 2020 Tour de France as the covid 19 restrictions keep us glued to the TV for a little longer.
Congratulations Ritchie Porte for a great tour, sorry we could not be on the roadside with you, until the next time its possible to Practice Bicycle with all the adventures of live roadside race action.
